LEGACY QUILTERS

Let Us Tell You A Little About Ourselves

We don’t know life under a regular blanket. We are two siblings of nine and each of us and our children and children’s children have all been comforted with our Mother’s beautiful quilts. From denim to polyester to broadcloth and onward to cotton, we watched our Mother’s love of quilting and her experience with the craft evolve. Over the years we’ve had the pleasure of working on various projects with her. She has created a legacy and has inspired us and many other family members to carry it on.

Hello

My Name Is Carol McRae

I’ve spent 40 years in credit and office management and when I retired I knew instinctively what I wanted to do.

At a young age my mother taught me to sew, knit and embroider and these skills have served me well over the years. She also taught me the joy of quilting and I’ve hand quilted and own many of her quilts. I’ve enjoyed piecing, appliqué and embroidery work. In 2017 I purchased a HandiQuilter Avente and absolutely fell in love with long arm quilting. Many of you know me as Carol’s Long Arm Quilting Service but I’m expanding. Still offering exceptional service but with my sister by my side. She adds a wealth of knowledge to this endeavor.

Hello

My Name is Solange James

I’ve spent over 30 years in the needle and textile industry. I have operated over a dozen different types of machines from making wet suits, boat covers, men’s work wear, women’s better end clothing, to working with engineers at Irvin Aerospace providing the military with parachute and survival equipment, finishing off in the work force as a custom drapery fabricator.

The long arm machine is another machine I can add to my list of accomplishments. Well, not totally but I’m working on it. There is so much this machine can do and I’m excited to see where it takes me.

Today it’s all about fun, exploring my own creativity and sharing that with my sister. I love to be inspired and look forward to sharing in your inspirations.
